COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Mill Race Theatre Company (MRTC) and the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic (CIP, Phil) have announced a special collaborative production. The two Columbus staples will join forces for the production of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
MRTC Board President Sharon Andrews expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming collaboration, stating, “We are so honored to partner with our friends at the Phil for our pit orchestra, and you’re going to want your very own Golden Ticket to see what we can do together.”
The CIP is equally excited about this collaboration as Music Director Isaac Selya shared his anticipation, stating, “Snozzberry? Whoever heard of a Snozzberry?” He added, “This unique project offers us a fantastic opportunity to bring this beloved story to life with our music, and we are looking forward to this wonderful partnership.”
The Mill Race Theatre Company and the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic will present Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, July 18-20, 2025, at the Judson S. Erne Auditorium at Columbus North High School. Tickets are available now by purchasing an MRTC 2024-25 season ticket online at millracetheatre.org. Individual show ticket sales will be made available in the Spring of 2025.
Roald Dahl’s “Charlie & the Chocolate Factory” is an updated musical tale of young Charlie Bucket on a deliciously delightful adventure through Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. It has many of your favorite songs from the original film but with a new-age twist.
