NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) arrested a Jennings County man last week on felony charges of Child Molestation after a four-month investigation.
The Indiana Department of Child Services contacted JCSO detectives in April after they received a report of possible child molestation involving 69-year-old Paul D. Collett. Detective Ian McPherson led an inquiry that ultimately indicated that Collett had allegedly engaged in the molestation of a juvenile female family member over the last six years.
When the investigation ended, the case was presented to Jennings County Prosecutor Brian Belding for review. Judge Murielle S. Bright of the Jennings County Circuit Court issued an arrest warrant for Collett.
JCSO Sheriff Freeman and detectives from the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office and Seymour Police Department located Collett at a residence in Seymour. He was arrested on the preliminary charges of Child Molesting (Level 1 Felony) and Child Molesting (Level 4 Felony).
Collett is incarcerated at Jennings County Jail pending an initial hearing in Circuit Court.
