COLUMBUS, Ind. – It’s already week four of high school football in the state, and a local matchup is in the spotlight this week.
Columbus East hosts Jennings County Friday night in a Hoosier Hills Conference contest. The Olympians try to even their record at 2-2 following last week’s 30-14 win over Seymour. The Panthers are winless under first-year head coach Jason Burton. Tom Rust and Jim St. John will have the Columbus version of the broadcast at 6:40 p.m., on MOJO 102.9. Joe Ammerman and Morgan Webster give the North Vernon side of it on FM 97.7 or AM 1460, Jennings County KORN.
The Johnson County Game of the Week is in Whiteland as the Warriors take on their neighbor Franklin. Whiteland is 1-1 after losing to Decatur Central last week. The Grizzly Cubs are 2-1 after losing last week to Perry Meridian. Jason Newhouse and Steve Stuart will be on the call at 6:45 p.m. on KORN Country 100.3.
Columbus North is also at home this week, hosting the Roncalli Rebels. The Bulldogs are 3-0 and ranked 9th in the 6A USA Today Network poll while Roncalli is 1-1 and ranked 11th in 4A. The Rebels are 4-0 in the last four meetings with North.
