JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. – Gov. Holcomb and the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announced Thursday that communities in Johnson County will receive about $6.5 million to improve roads and bridges from the Community Crossings Matching Grant Program (CCMG).
The CCMG, established by the Indiana General Assembly in 2016, aims to advance community infrastructure projects, strengthen local transportation networks, and improve Indiana’s roads and bridges. Since its enactment, the program has awarded more than $1.8 billion in state-matching funds for local construction projects.
Through the program, the Indiana Department of Transportation matches up to $1.5 million annually when localities invest in road and bridge repairs. Counties with less than 50,000 people and cities/towns with populations fewer than 10,000 receive a 75%/25% match. Counties with populations over 50,000 and cities/towns with populations greater than 10,000 get a 50%/50% match.
In Johnson County, the following communities received grants:
- Bargersville – $1.5 million
- Edinburgh – $1,483 million
- Franklin – $611,246
- Greenwood – $1,412 million
- Johnson County – $1,423 million
The CCMG offers two rounds of applications each year, with the next call for applications occurring in January 2025. Click here to view the full list of communities receiving matching funds.
