SEYMOUR, Ind. — On January 9, the Seymour Police Department (SPD) arrested Donta Jackson, 18, of Indianapolis, for an armed robbery that occurred at Motel 6 in Seymour on November 7, 2024.
After Jackson’s arrest, investigators continued to follow up on information and obtained a Jackson Superior Court 1 search warrant for a residence on Eagle Cove West Drive in Indianapolis.
The search warrant was executed on Thursday morning by the Indiana State Police SWAT Team and Jayson L. Cummings, 19, of Indianapolis, was taken into custody.
SPD detectives processed the scene and allegedly found items of evidentiary value in the Motel 6 case.
Cummings was charged with robbery while armed with a deadly weapon (level 2 felony), intimidation (level 5 felony), pointing a firearm (level 6 felony), and theft (level 6 felony). He was transported to the Jackson County Jail pending an initial court appearance.
