EDINBURGH, Ind. – The Edinburgh Poice Department was dispatched to an active threat at East Side Elementary School on Friday morning.
Officers from multiple agencies eventually responded to the school which was soon cleared of any threats. Students and faculty were loaded on buses and transported to Edinburgh High School.
As a precaution, Edinburgh Police and Edinburgh Fire and Rescue officers were sent to the high school to check on all the students and staff and to also make sure that the school was secured. They also assisted so that a controlled release of the students could be completed.
After several searches, no threats were found at East Side Elementary and the incident was considered a prank.
Edinburgh High School students were also released at 11 am. The high school was cleared to ensure every area was checked.
This is still an active investigation to try to determine who made the threat.
