NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The North Vernon Police Department (NVPD) was dispatched to a Vintage Trace residence in response to a 911 call at approximately 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14.
Officers spoke with Christopher Adams, Cassandra Engle, and Carlos Holder when they arrived. According to police, an odor of marijuana was detected from inside the home, and all occupants were detained after they refused to give consent to search the home.
NVPD obtained and executed a search warrant later that morning, and officers allegedly recovered several illegal substances.
All three individuals were taken into custody, and the suspects were transported to the Jennings County Jail. The formal charges will be filed by the Jennings County Prosecutor’s Office.
The drugs and drug-related items supposedly found were:
- Suspected methamphetamine
- Marijuana and THC-infused edibles
- Smoking devices that are associated with controlled substance use
- Various containers and paraphernalia consistent with illegal drug activity
