REDDINGTON, Ind. – The Seymour Fire Department (SPD) was dispatched to fight a fully involved residential blaze in Redding Township on Monday, at 1:45 p.m. Firefighters were initially responding to a basement fire, but while en route, the call expanded to a fully involved house fire.
The Redding Township Volunteer Fire Department was first on the scene and initiated defensive measures to prevent the flames from spreading.
SPD’s Ladder 3 arrived to assist, and in approximately 20 minutes, the blaze was under control.
The cause is undetermined at this time. One resident was treated and transported to Schneck Medical Center by Jackson County EMS for evaluation due to smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported.
