BARTHOLOMEW/JENNINGS COUNTY, Ind. — The Indiana Department of Transportation will hold a public information meeting on Wednesday, June 25, for the planned State Road 7 roadway improvement project in Bartholomew and Jennings counties.
The meeting will take place at Jennings County High School (800 West Walnut Street, North Vernon, IN) and will provide an opportunity for the public to interact with the project team and receive the latest updates on the project. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. to allow attendees time to view displays and talk with project personnel prior to a presentation that will begin at 6 p.m.
The project aims to improve safety and mobility, as well as reduce crashes on S.R. 7 by widening the roadway to install shoulders and a middle turn lane at specific locations along the corridor. The contract is currently scheduled to let in fall 2028.
The Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plan for the project requires single lane closures on S.R. 7. Additional project information will be presented at the meeting. INDOT will coordinate with emergency services, local school corporation officials, state and local agencies and project stakeholders to ensure potential disruptions are minimized.
