COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus City Utilities (CCU) Quality Control Lab recently received the Indiana Water Environment Association (IWEA) Laboratory Excellence Award for the second consecutive year.
The IWEA Laboratory Excellence Award recognizes those labs that demonstrate a high level of commitment to good laboratory practice and accurate data reporting.
The audit involved a 428-point inspection on the following categories: Quality Assurance/Quality Control, Laboratory Facility, General Laboratory, and Analytes. CCU received an overall score of 92%, with 100% awarded for Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC).
Associate Director of CCU Treatment Operations Travis Calhoun said, “Columbus City Utilities is grateful for the Quality Control Lab staff, whose devotion and meticulous work are reflected in their perfect QA/QC score. I’m proud of their commitment to excellence.”
