COLUMBUS, Ind.– The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) is investigating a suspected accidental shooting on Thursday, July 3.
BSO deputies responded to Columbus Regional Health (CRH) regarding a supposed accidental shooting at approximately 7:02 p.m. The victim, a 15-year-old male, had been transported to the hospital in a private vehicle from the alleged shooting scene in Petersville.
The juvenile victim received medical treatment at CRH but was ultimately flown by Lifeline helicopter to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
The juvenile remains in the care of Methodist Hospital and is listed in critical condition.
