INDIANAPOLIS – Are you headed to Gen Con in Indy? You are asked to consider giving lifesaving blood. The American Red Cross is at the Bud Light Zone Terrace Level inside Lucas Oil Stadium on July 31 to August 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., and August 3 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
About 62% of the U.S. population is eligible to give blood, but only 3% donate. The Red Cross collects, processes, and distributes about 40% of the nation’s blood supply.
Each day, the nation relies on the generosity of donors to collect about 12,500 blood donations to meet the needs of accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer, or sickle cell disease.
As a thank you for rolling up a sleeve to give blood, donors will receive a ‘loot crate’ packed with epic gaming stuff and exclusive digital goods. They will also get a role-playing character card and a six-sided die (while supplies last), plus a chance to dig into a treasure chest for a surprise reward.
