NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The North Vernon Police Department(NVPD) arrested a local woman on multiple drug charges during a traffic stop on Sunday, July 13.
During a traffic stop on Buckeye Street in downtown North Vernon, officers established probable cause to pull over and search the vehicle. Methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia was discovered during the search. The driver, Alexis Johnson, was taken into custody and transported to the Jennings County Jail.
She faces preliminary charges of:
- Possession of Methamphetamine
- Possession of Marijuana
- Possession of Paraphernalia
- Neglect of a Dependent – Level 6 Felony
All suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
