NINEVEH, Ind. – The 40th Anniversary of the film “Hoosiers” will be celebrated at the Nineveh Community Fest, sponsored by the Nineveh Heritage Committee, on Saturday, September 13, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., at the Nineveh Fire Station at 844 E. County Road 775S.
The iconic 1985 movie was shot in Nineveh and other towns in Indiana.
The festival starts with a community breakfast at the Nineveh Fire Station from 8 to 9:45 a.m.
The original “Hickory Husker” team bus from the acclaimed movie will roll into town to lead the parade at 10 a.m. Retired fireman and community servant Leroy Rice will be honored as parade marshal.
KORN Country 100.3 will broadcast during the lunch hour. The fire station will host food and craft vendors, a sorority cake walk, a silent auction, and a history exhibit.
The Nineveh Community Fest will also feature a farmers market at Cornerstone Hardware and face painting at Apple Realty at the 4-way stop.
The day concludes with an outdoor showing of “Hoosiers” at dusk.
