MITCHELL, Ind. – The newly refurbished Spring Mill Inn at Spring Mill State Park has reopened. The historic inn and restaurant, in Mitchell, had been closed for renovations since November 2022.
Originally opened in 1939, the inn was due for significant mechanical modernizations, accessibility upgrades, and cosmetic room and conference facility improvements.
The guest rooms have been outfitted with new fixtures, carpets, and furnishings. Hoosiers can make lodging reservations for up to two years in advance by calling 1-877-LODGES-1 or visiting IndianaInns.com.
Diners can also enjoy the Millstone Dining Room again. The restaurant features breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m., lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. A soup and salad bar accompanies the regular menu every day.
The dining room will feature a holiday buffet on Tuesday, Dec. 24, with seating from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 812-849-4508. The cost is $34.99 per person for adults, $17.49 for children 4 to 10, and kids under four are free.
The look and feel of the inn remain true to the original rustic pioneer atmosphere but with modern conveniences.
Meeting rooms are available for conferences, group meetings, banquets, and weddings. Call 812-849-4508 to inquire about holding group events at Spring Mill Inn.
Less-visible upgrades include new HVAC, water lines, a fire alarm, and a sprinkler system. A generator was installed to power the inn when electricity is down due to storms.
