COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Zac Mago Foundation, a group looking to bring awareness to and hoping to prevent sudden cardiac arrest in youth and teens, is hosting heart screenings for Columbus East and Columbus North High School students this Saturday, March 8, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at North High School.
Mago was just 17 years old when he died of sudden cardiac arrest. He was a multi-sport athlete, and a standout on the John Glenn High School basketball team in Walkerton, Indiana.
Screenings include height and weight measurement, limited echocardiogram, heart health questionnaire, blood pressure reading, electrocardiogram, and results interpreted by a board-certified cardiologist.
Heart screenings are $25 and interested students can sign up here.
