COLUMBUS, Ind. – The City of Columbus will be hopping the first weekend in June, showcasing three signature events.
The Columbus Municipal Airport is hosting Aviation Day 2025 on Friday, June 6, from 5 to 10 p.m., including the first-ever drone show in Columbus. Additional events are planned for Aviation Day on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. Admission is free.
In downtown Columbus, at the Bartholomew Historical Society Museum and surrounding venues, the Chuck Taylor festival is on Saturday, from 3 to 8 p.m. Music, food trucks, basketball competitions, a scavenger hunt, and kidzone fun are all a part of the party.
To cap off the weekend, the 2025 Moonlight Loop night bike ride hits the streets on Saturday, June 7, starting at 9 p.m. The ride begins and ends at the Bartholomew County Library plaza. The Moonlight Loop is not a race, it is a leisurely nighttime 19-mile bike ride through scenic Columbus.
Riders are encouraged to participate in the “Light Up the Night” contest by decorating their bike and themselves with lots of lights, glow sticks, and glow-in-the-dark paint. In this case, more IS better.
The Moonlight Loop, organized by the Friends of Columbus Animal Care Services, benefits the PetFix program, which provides low-cost spay/neuter services for pet owners in the community.
Registration/Check-in begins at 7 p.m. You can also pre-register here.
