COLUMBUS, Ind. – In the annual U.S. News and World Report of the best places to live in the United States, one town stood out to Columbus residents, as the county seat of Bartholomew County was named in the top half of 250 cities where people should call home.
U.S. News and World Report evaluated nearly 860 cities across the United States for their 2025-2026 list, and Columbus came in at 92nd overall. This placed them fifth in Indiana and made them the only Indiana city named on the list that does not fall in the Indianapolis metro area.
Columbus was ranked 92nd based on their cumulative score of 6.2/10, accounting for variables like value, desirability, job market, and quality of life.
