COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Area Arts Council (CAAC) invites the community to the grand opening of the Arts Alley Parklet on Friday, June 6, from 6 to 10 p.m. This one-night-only celebration will unveil the 6th Street Arts Alley as a reimagined pedestrian-only pocket park.
Located on 6th Street between Washington and Franklin Streets, the Arts Alley Parklet has been redesigned with a new ground mural, colorful furniture, shady gathering spots, free public Wi-Fi, and upgraded electrical access to support concerts and vendors.
The Arts Alley Parklet was designed by local firm LAA Office, with support from Force Construction, Force Design, and the Heritage Fund. Community involvement was integral to the transformation, including mural painting days where volunteers who registered to paint one unique line at a time in the vibrant new ground mural.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit artsincolumbus.org/arts-alley, call 812-376-2539, or email info@artsincolumbus.org.
