SEYMOUR, Ind. – The Seymour Fire Department (SFD) responded to a structure fire at a single-family dwelling on the city’s west side on Friday, May 30, at around 8:45 a.m.
Initially, fire crews had difficulty entering the home due to multiple obstructions inside the residence. Once inside, firefighters performed an aggressive interior attack and extinguished the blaze within five minutes.
There was one person in the house at the time of the fire who self-evacuated and called 911.
No working smoke alarms were located in the home. The cause of the fire is still under SFD investigation. No injuries were reported.
