NORTH VERNON, Ind. – Officers from the North Vernon Police Department(NVPD) arrested a Jennings County man for alleged intimidation and drug charges on Sunday night, June 29.
At approx. 10:30 p.m., while NVPD officers were at that location for an unrelated call outside of the North Vernon Walmart on North State Hwy, 58 year old Troy Lewis allegedly verbally threatened officers. When the on duty sergeant approached Mr. Lewis to detain him for intimidation and place him in handcuffs, Lewis pulled away. Mr. Lewis continued to resist arrest before being taken into custody. Marijuana was allegedly found on his person.
Troy Lewis was arrested on charges of:
- Resisting law enforcement
- Disorderly conduct
- Possession of marijuana
All suspects are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
